The October 7th Fort Wayne Base Community Council Luncheon was a smashing success, with nearly 400 community and military leaders, BCC members and supporters in attendance. Several local media outlets also covered the event. Our Guest Speaker was Marine Sgt. Dakota Meyer, Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient. Sgt. Meyer spoke to attendees on his experiences in combat, as well as the importance of recruiting and retaining veterans to fill positions at local businesses.

Sgt. Meyer also congratulated the greater Fort Wayne area on being one of the most military-friendly communities he's visited. He complimented business leaders and the BCC on being closely engaged with military leaders and local military units, to help military members while still serving, and as they leave the military to join the local workforce.

The Fort Wayne Base Community Council's mission is to “Bring Community and Military Service Together.” The BCC is a not-for-profit organization, and relies on membership dues for 96% of revenue. The BCC is always looking for new talent and willing hands. If you would like to become a member, make a donation, or sign up to become a volunteer at one of our events, you may do so online by visiting the links at the top of your screen.
